Planning Matters Presents Shelley Poticha: Building a Strong, Prosperous and Resilient Memphis
Shelley Poticha leads NRDC’s Healthy People & Thriving Communities program, which advances strategies that create strong, just, and resilient communities. She works with local, national, and global leaders to make cities part of the answer to climate change while ensuring that all people can lead healthy, thriving lives. Previously Poticha was a senior political appointee in the Obama administration, where she led the federal Partnership for Sustainable Communities and launched the Office of Sustainable Housing and Communities at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Shelley’s presentation is the fifth event in Planning Matters, a series of public events sponsored by ULI Memphis and University of Memphis Design Collaborative (UMDC), featuring national planning and development experts from around the country. Planning Matters seeks to both demystify exactly what comprehensive planning is and provide locals with cutting edge ideas and best practices to enhance the Memphis 3.0 plan.
Registration begins at 5:00 pm and the program will run from 5:30-7:00 pm. Please register by September 18. Free garage parking, see map here.
